Lake Macquarie
Lake Macquarie City is home to Australia's greatest coastline lake. Four times the size of Sydney Harbour, Lake Macquarie's safe salt waters are ringed by eucalypt tree-lined foreshores, and offer many beautiful sights and wonderful opportunities for a variety of recreational activities.

Sailboarding, water skiing, yachting, canoeing and bushwalking are some of the many activities visitors can indulge in while touring the Lake, and for those with more relaxed ideas in mind, picnicking, houseboating, bushwalking and fishing are popular options. Lake Macquarie also has a number of golden surfing beaches and is only a short distance from the beautiful Watagan Mountain area.

Galleries and Museums
Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery has a regularly changing arts program and holds a number of interesting artworks, including a collection of beautiful Australian landscapes, sculpture, and photography. Lake Macquarie is also home to the famous Australian painter Sir William Dobell O.B.E. Momentos and paintings are on display at Dobell House in Wangi Wangi. Other interesting galleries in the area include Bahtabah Arts & Crafts, featuring Aboriginal artworks and the Town & Country Gallery displaying the works of local artists
